Favorite Restaurants

A Single Pebble, Burlington, VT

An Asian inspired restaurant that is as close to real Chinese food as I've found in Vermont.  None of the standard gloppy sweet and sour or bland beef and broccoli. Flavors are intense, food has real mouth appeal, and the presentation is outstanding.  Try the dry fried green beans or an Chop Your Head Off soup.  For that matter, try anything, it's all beautifully presented and delightful to eat.  PLLoggerR

The Belfry, Montgomery, VT

Rustic, casual atmosphere.  Great food!  From Marty's Maple Wings to Blackened...whatever (scallops, fish, steak)  -Petra

Tiny Thai, Essex VT

My favorite dish is the Pad Kee Maow, or "drunken noodles". It has very wide noodles, in a tangy-spicy sauce, tossed with vegetables like tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers to name a few; with your choice of meat or tofu. The restraunt in Essex is very small, but worth the wait (if any). It's also BYOB (or BYOW(ine)), so it makes the perfect economical dinner out. For a real treat, try the fried banana and icecream! -Heather

Sarducci's, Montpelier

There are so many things I love about lunch at Sarducci's-- the pasta, the smell of garlic, the policiticians at the next table, the bread.... If you get there early, the tables overlooking the river are divine. I try to chekc in at least once a month, and so far, never a bad meal....  Amy
